I had never heard of "St. Nick Night", as it's called here, until I moved to SE Wisconsin.
On the night of the Dec 5th, kids put out their shoes and St. Nick brings them little trinkets to remind them he's watching.
In our house, he brings us an ornament, depicting something that happened to us during the past year.
In the world of photography, I’m the kindergartner with a Polaroid surrounded by college kids using 35mm cameras with the really cool lenses that come...
@carjmy What happened that caused you to begin the tradition in your house?
I didn't grow up in WI. I learned about it from my neighbors with older children. When my oldest was in kindergarten nine years ago, she came home all excited because they made clogs in school to set out. YIKES! Emergency trip to Walgreens! HA!
It's something I always wanted to do growing up, but my mom had no idea what it was. We decided to pull Santa from Christmas and focus on Christ, so my husband and I decided it would be fun to celebrate St. Nicolas Day and take the time to learn about the real St. Nick. Also, I just love holidays, :)
Go Pack!
