I am behind in trimming the chives, shouldn't have let them bloom but they did and at least I can take a shot of them.
Life for me lately has been like these chives, a bit behind in a few things. A family member was out of state getting radiation for a brain tumor so I stayed with the kids. I have lots at home that need my attention now so hopefully I will catch up.
Either way, I'm glad that everything worked out.
That's my long winded story & I'm sticking with it.
Gorgeous macro, Kathy! Beautiful colors and details! I certainly hope and pray your family member will be fine. I had a dear friend who went through that treatment for her brain tumor. They have managed to keep it under control for over 20 years now.
Love the shot of the chive bloom - I think it's pretty and I'm glad that you let it bloom. I'm sorry to hear about your ill relative but perspective is a good thing. To me, 365 is stress relief not a stresser. I'm way behind in my photos and I'm OK with it. Peace to you!
i've heard of so many ppl lately with brain tumors.....so horrible. i hope you family member recovers, he/she must be young.
i think chives make such pretty shots and you got a nice one here.....perfect dof!
Well, at least you got a beautiful picture out of those blooms! Gorgeous lighting. Sorry to hear about your family member. Its great that you could help out.
. . . let the blooms run their course but remove them just before they're completely dead. Dry them out on a windowsill and shake out the seeds.
Start them off in pots next year and you'll have plants everywhere!
rockin' that camera, aren't you? this is fabulous - the colours, the lighting, the perspective, the focus. yeah, you're rocking it. i'm also on the hunt for a new camera. still undecided if i'll upgrade to a dslr or the mirrorless.
@summerfield Thanks - I love my new camera - it has nice preset programs and I can use the manual settings too. Thank you so much for the kindest words. The Nikon D5100 has 16 pixels so the quality is good
@tigerdreamer@jsw0109 Thank you for the prayers - this is for my son in law. He's a great guy, it's not cancerous but very aggressively growing the local doctors said he needs to go out of state for special treatments. Lasted 6 weeks. God is good and I know He will see him and my daughter and gkids through it.
@jsw0109@cheyrebecca@pukeko Thank you all!
I will be viewing all your shots soon, I appreciate all the kind words and prayers are always appreciated. Any time you have prayer needs don't hesitate to ask me either.
This is a very pretty shot and the light and focus are wonderful!
Sounds like a stressful time as well as busy-ness. I hope you get to feeling more caught up soon.
Lovely focus in this.
Beautiful picture, great focus and brilliant color!

Hoping for positive things for your family :)
