Hey, we got paired for get pushed 11. I've had a quick look through some of your album. It is clear that you love nature, the outdoors and people. So my challenge to you is to take an abstract photograph of a household object. Good luck, I hope to hear your challenge to me soon!
I hope this counts as a household object. I found it in my house - I'm sure you can tell what it is.
Hi Kathy, I am your get pushed partner for next week :0) I have a couple of ideas in mind but before I do I just wanted to know if you are shooting manually or using auto. And is the D5100 capable of multiple exposures, I know other Nikon DSLRs carry this feature.
@ayearinthelifeof Hi Eddie, I do shoot in manual. My camera does have the capablility for multiple exposures (I just learned how to use that setting a few weeks ago. I look forward to whatever you come up with (within reason). I will take time later on today to come up with something for you.
Two more questions what software do you use for editing? And do you have any special tools or equipment I should know about. Maybe you have light set ups. what sort of filters you got, do you need to practice with any of them? And I know that was three. I'm a pest haha I am just trying to get to know as much as I can so that I can come up with something that is both fun and an education at the same time.
Actually I am just going to go ahead and challenge you. It seems you have a bit of everything, I noticed that it was a very busy collection and despite you already being set the challenge I still don't see much minimalism going on. So I would like to see some more minimalism but with a twist, I'd like you to make some "minimalistic multiple exposures" One of my favourite things is to interpret quotes into pictures, maybe this could help you bring the two things together.
I have two lens the one the 55 - 200 and the 18 - 55 that comes with the camera. I don't have any additional lights, when I've needed extra light I've used flash lights and other make shift set-ups.
These are great questions, I appreciate you doing the research to customize. What about you what do you have & use?
@ayearinthelifeof - wow - looks like I'm going to go into some new territory - sounds like a fun and still challenging challenge. Thank you.
I will have something for you soon.
@myhrhelper Well that was a lucky guess then! I really like the depth of field and it works well. Might have been interesting to see the dof go along one notebook, but maybe next time!
Nothing special, just a Pentax K10D and loads of old film cameras, all my lens work on both digital and film which is why I chose Pentax. Editing wise I have just gotten into Photoshop over the last month or so and I think that is reflected in my project, especially this last week. used to do everything SOOC until recently.
@myhrhelper I have done a couple of images using GIMP tutorials, and having been through every free programme available and teaching myself all the way, I would say that Photoshop seems a lot easier than GIMP. They are similar programmes but everything has a slightly different technique in GIMP.
No Get Pushed 11 - we are about to start camera settings challenge 14.

I use free stuff - Ipiccy or Picmonkey. I don't own anything else. I downloaded Gimp but don't know how to use it yet.
