speckled bird - spring is coming

There are areas that the grass is showing, but most of the ground is covered in snow. I don't know what kind of bird this is but I liked his pattern.

I've not been able to get a decent bird shot and I'm hoping soon I will. This one is ok I just know there is room for improvement
