My husband & I went to Devils Lake to hike (along with thousands of other people). We wondered if we would be able to take any photographs but sometimes it was just a matter of waiting for some people to leave and asking others to please wait a moment to take the shot.
If you ever go to Wisconsin (assuming you don't live there already) - go to Devils Lake and take the trails - very pretty. Some of the trails are very difficult (going up sides of cliffs which I did not do especially since there was some rain and I had my camera with me) and other slightly difficult (which is what I did).
