Get Pushed - tell a story about "loss" using low key lighting techniques
My get push challenge from David:
I'm your get push partner for this week (as you may already know). Took a brief look at your portfolio on 365 and your 500px site. Seems you know something about photography so I'm going to push you a little further.
I want you to tell a story about "loss" using low key lighting techniques.
@myhrhelper Hi Kathy I'm your get pushed partner. I love the variety of wonderful pictures you have. This one really does tell a story, which inspires me to challenge you to do another story: this time with fairy-tale overtones (interpret as you wish) and using a diptych (which happens to coincide with technique38 challenge)
I know i have the lighting wrong. My hand is too bright it should never be brighter than my face, but my nose looks so huge in this that I toned down the brightness of my face
@myhrhelper Nice image. If I stare at the image too long, I may get teary eye. I'm also happy to see someone else giving you another story request. I like to see more of this from you in the future.
@davidtom i agree that is something I need to work on not just trying to have a nice photo but for it to relay a message, or story. Thank you for the push
@davidtom This in my opinion was poorly done. Because my hand is brighter than my face, there are many things I don't like about it but the challenge did push me further, I would have liked to have a model to compose this shot better.
@myhrhelper The nice thing about using yourself as model is that you are always available... unless of course yourself is just a difficult person to work with ;-).
One thing you can try is to tether your camera. This way you can frame yourself and then use the computer/mobile screen to finalize the final details...
Hello Kathy, I look forward to your challenge for get pushed! My challenge for you is to make the subject of your photo something from your closet...any closet. I like all of your work! You either came a long way fast or had an inherit talent for photography. Either way you take some beautiful pictures.
