Four years ago we went to the local nursery store and asked for wisteria and left with sixty dollars of native sunset honeysuckle. We wanted quick growing flowering shade. Three years ago we moved the two honeysuckles from planter boxes on the deck to the flower bed at the base of the deck and then (I) worried all winter they were dead. Two years ago they came back to life, last year they really started climbing, and this year we made it to the deck. Guys, the purple in the background is phlox 10 feet below on the ground. These honeysuckle suckers are growing like the invasive wisteria we whisted for four years ago. Gardening is nothing if not a test of patience and hope. (106/366)
