I was in a shop today and ran across this uranium "vaseline glass" and beads from the 1920's just sitting on the shelf with the blacklight.
The term "Vaseline Glass" is now frequently used as a synonym for any uranium glass, especially in the US, but this useage is not universal. The term is sometimes carelessly applied to other types of glass. Actual uranium content requires a "blacklight" test to verify the green flourescence. This is "jadite" glass...opaque or semi-opaque green. I thought it was an interesting find.
Wow, this truely is amazing, I have never heard such a thing but it sure sounds and looks amazing! This is so cool shot! There´s almost a abstract look in this. I love this!
@susale thank you so much. I had never heard of it before either...that was straight out of Wikipedia. It was really amazing to look at...drew my eye right away. Can't believe it would be too good to handle much though? It is collectible.:)
