Autumn in the pomegranate rows

I drive past these rows everymorning and the light this morning was wonderful, had to stop to take some photos
Hosw be4autiful. We used to have pomegranates growing in our garden when we lived in Cyprus.

Fabulous capture, they almost seem past their prime and very dry. Do they still get picked?

Here they wrap each one in a paper bag so that they do not dry out. When the bag bursts, they are ready to be picked.

@onewing Thanks, Cyprus is on the bucket list!
@ludwigsdiana Thanks, the farmer has let this crop go for some reason, not sure why. Beautiful fruit though, the birds are loving them.

@nannasgotitgoingon We lived there for 3 years during our RAF days. 1983-1986 I think it is more touristy now but when we were there it was quite raw because it was only a few years after the 1974 war and it was still recovering. My daughter went back there last year and loved it.
