My cat decided that it was going to be ill today. A trip to the vets (my cat is flippin' heavy and this is a mile+ round trip!) and £40 later... I've discovered she's dehydrated and has lost weight. The vet gave me tablets for her and some liquid which has to be taken on an empty stomach so I can't mix it with food. And she wants my parents to take her back next week when they're home for a blood test to see if she has an overactive thyroid...
Well... I discovered I could get the tablets into the cat by shutting it in the bathroom with a bowl of food and crushed tablet (so the other cat wouldn't accidently eat it), however, the liquid got all over the kitchen, the cat and me, and I now have a load of scratches up my arm, great!
Also today, Rebecca and Jess came over and we made flapjack and danced round the kitchen :p Oh and I babysat the cutest kids ever tonight :D
It's very stressful when kitty is sick. What do you use to give the liquid? I find syringe easier to use than droppers. Hold the scruff, insert through the side of the muzzle, squirt as quickly as possible.
