Today, I visited A (boy in yesterday's picture), for a while and we chatted and played with a colouring/games books and stickers. He is so cute, and he kept laughing and smiling, it was lovely to see him happy despite the less-than-ideal circumstances at the moment! I then went to look after 2 children I babysit for for an hour while one parent was out and the other hadn't got back yet. We chatted again and I helped one of them begin to make dinner and she was so chatty and wanted to help me with everything. I then went straight from there to Beavers where I was looking after a boy with special needs. I played football with him and actually managed to engage him and hold his attention for at least 15 minutes! He was laughing and giggling and smiling the whole time :)
People always thank me for looking after their children, playing with them etc. But really, it should be me thanking them. Working with children helps me smile, it gives me hope and it helps me to find a reason to get up on a morning :)
