I opened up a letter from DWP (Department of Work and Pensions) today with the result of my PIP (Personal Independence Payment - the disability benefit which can be granted to people in the UK). I was really, really nervous because although I'd had a text to say I'd been accepted (without assessment which is INCREDIBLY rare), I didn't know which of the four amounts it would be. But the letter states I've been granted the second highest amount (as much as I could have hoped for!). Not only that but it's not being reassessed for 2 years AND it's being backdated to 11th January (something I never, ever expected, I expected 4 weeks at best). It's such a huge relief, especially when I've been struggling in my 7-hour-a-week job. Also had a really helpful meeting with a charity I've sort of been a member of but am now being a volunteer of but they're still supporting me a lot - basically they're a really small charity but really great.
Lovely shot. lovely softness and tones. That's a great outcome for your PIP. You only ever hear about when the system fails people such a relief to know it does work for some people.
