Had an appt with locum ED person today and it was actually so useful. I don’t want her to leave but she’s leaving next week 😔 (because she's a locum and the old person is coming back). She said she knew what school I went to before she even asked (apparently she’s seen a LOT of girls from that school with anxiety/low self-esteem/extreme perfectionism etc. oh dear). She gave me a way to deal with flashbacks that isn’t self-defeating (which is incredible, like, life-changing) so I’m going to keep trying to practice that. She thinks I should art journal daily which I’m going to try and do.
She also asked if I’ve ever been tested for dyslexia because apparently the issues I’m having with reading (and writing to an extent) are not mental health related which I always thought they were. She said it would make a lot of things make sense… she suggested I order some overlays so see if they help so my brother has ordered some for me which are arriving tomorrow so we will see if they do help!
Then I met up with a friend for coffee/tea after which was lovely :)
Dyslexia runs in my family - I have it - but there are ways to help you cope
