I did use a ‘nifty fifty’ as I’ve seen people call them.
Actually quite a few of my recent shots of the lads are taken with it. You have to do more moving around to compose your shot which take some getting used to.
It is now my lens of choice when trying to capture the lads indoors. Being able to take the aperture up to f/1.8 to get the fastest shot possible in low light give me a better change of snapping the lads without them blurring.
Also at comparable apertures of around f/3.5 to f/6 it seems to give much clearer photos compared to the stock lens at the same focal length.
I got mine off ebay for about £70 and I think it's getting as much use at the 18-55mm stock lens as most of my shots are taken in and around the house.
You would probably see benefit of it when taking shots at evening/night time gigs, plus the lens is very small so makes your camera that little be more inconspicuous.
