Tricolore vegeroni
Dried herring in olive oil and capers
Sun-dried tomatoes
Roasted bell pepper
Garlic, chili pepper and basil
Fried the garlic with the oil from the dried herring bottle, added the sun-dried tomatoes,2 tbsp of basil and a piece of dried pepper, then dumped in the shredded herring sans scales. Then I put in the rest of the garlic, mixing it a bit. When everything smells of salty fish, mix in the al dente pasta (here I used the tricolore).
When the pasta is evenly coated by the fish-and-fun stuff, put in the sliced roasted bell pepper. Add more olive oil if it looks a bit dry. Pretend to know how to cook in 3 more minutes. :)
Serve with parmesan cheese. Not necessarily in a big cup as pictured, though. :D
@jgoodridge@katrinacristy it had an interesting taste, not the usual recipe you can find, but the saltiness of the herring was balanced by the sweet and tangy flavor of the sun-dried tomatoes. plus the roasted bell pepper gave it an amazing smell. :)
thanks joe! :) @ingapinga
