When I first saw this Japanese copy of a Fender Telecaster, it was all black and had a single bridge pick up. I tested it and as I touched its maple neck, it felt as if it was the wand that Ollivander matched with Harry Potter (lame analogy but that's how it is :) ).
So I bought it, and to cut the long story short, I stripped it of its paint, carved the body using a box cutter (for days!), added a humbucker pickup, crafted a pick guard from some, er, 'household items', and soldered the circuitry myself. There were a lot of problems at first, but I figured out the wirings so in the end, she sounded pretty sweet. Final step was to spray paint her Butterscotch Blonde.
Her name, as some friends claim is all too appropriate, is Sarcaster. :)
Nicely done! Shot and the Tele. I just missed out on a Tele Esquire a number of years ago, for a measley $300! I simply didn't realise the value until the next day when some digging revealed the rarity. beautiful work you've done with this.
@jinximages Thanks, jinx! that's also the reason i bought it, been a fan of the esquire, but later on, i got more curious about how a "fat" tele would sound like. with Albert Collins' fat tele as inspiration, i installed a humbucker just to find out. been in love with it ever since. :)
