There are times when you want to pamper your tastebuds and go for the pricey food and the place with the nice lighting every once in a while. For Chinese food, it doesn't necessary follow. I don't like those fancypants Chinese restaurants. The more you can smell the sweat of the cooks and the closer you are to the crashing of the pans and the stovetop explosions, the better.
This one is Wai Ying, an old Chinese eatery in Salazar St, Binondo in Manila's Chinatown.
