One of the most difficult jobs I know is driving a jeepney (portmanteau of the words Jeep and jitney) a.k.a. the Philippines' passenger deathtrucks.
It involves some sever multi-tasking: driving for at least 16 hours under the baking sun of these equatorial islands; looking back from time to time to spot which passenger hasn't paid yet; reaching out back to collect the few coins and counting them to make sure that no penny is missing; while dodging crossing pedestrians, "cigarette retailers", cops, dogs, kittens and other small animals.
At the end of the day, after all that hard work, they take home about $30-$40 after all the dues are paid to the jeepney's owner.
i remember 'em and they definitely scared me to death..they drive so freakin' fast and furious---i enjoyed when there's traffic cuz that's the only way to slow 'em down-Ha !! cool editing and fav---:)
We experienced something like that in Jamaica. Man, it scared the dickens out of us. Surprised he didn't leave any bodies lying in the road. lol. This is a great shot and really captures that experience.
