My kids great grandpa and husbands grandpa passed away yesterday aged 93. He lived a few streets away from us, he will be much missed. He had a twinkle in his eye and if he found a leg he'd give it a good pull! A visit to great grandma will not be the same without him sat in the corner in his chair. He spent a long working life as a farmer so todays shot that has been sat in the rejected folder has come out in memory of him. My husband has many stories to tell of his early childhood living on his farm and this may bring some memories back for him.
Sorry to hear about your husbands grandpa, he sound like like he was quite a character and led a full life this looks to me like a fitting image for his memory Hugs xox
You and your family are in my thoughts tonight Newbank Lass! Make sure you look to the sky to see the brightest star.........that's your Great Grandpa blowing you and your family a kiss :)
I'm so sorry for the loss to your family. This beautifully processed picture seems a fitting tribute. The twinkle in the eye and the leg-pulling make him sound a bit like my Dad, who died earlier this year, also at the age of 93. I guess one gets used to the fact that they are gone, but one never stops missing them.
This is a lovely shot. Brings back memories of my childhood playing in the Dutch barn .. no plastic silage rounds in those days .. just good old rectangles of straw and hay.
So sorry for your loss but I am sure you have many many happy memories of this wonderful gentleman. You picture is beautifully processed and a loving tribute.
A sad day for you to go out and shoot but it looks like you are remembering with fondness the good times you shared together. Like the leaning ladder ...cool compositional element.
