Going but not gone

Went for a walk with my macro lens. For my mentoring group macro nature week. I learnt my lesson from the freezing cold walk I went on a few weeks ago, this time I have put on hubby's old thermal jumper to keep me warm. My legs turned into blocks of ice so next time I'm wearing the long johns too!! This macro photography thing is hard!

Macro is the BEST! It's so challenging, I love it :) How cold is it?

@gigiflower 1C. Before I headed out I was already freezing after being out for 50 mins on the school run, but the sun was poking through the mist and I couldn't bear the thought of coming straight in and doing the ironing pile or making the tea ready for tonight! So thermals it was....

You are right - macro work is a real challenge but I think you have made a good job of this. Naturally I am trying to visualise it in b/w!

Fabulous macro. I don't think I could cope with the cold like you are having though. Been there, done that. I will stick with the 30 degrees c here. Don't do single figures any more.

The focus and dof in this one is terrific! I think I might just crop that white branch (?) on the left which would leave the shot kind of squarish. But this is really nice. You must be pleased, especially as you had to brave hypothermia to get it!

I never cut back or prune in winter because old seed heads like this are food for the birds in the depths of winter, wonderful capture...Fav
