My mentoring group is taking on the theme of water this month. In all its forms and photographic possibilities. Littlest was doing some water painting in the garden whilst Daddy did the extremely tedious task of painting our MANY wooden fence panels.
@taffy@pamknowler@888rachel@golftragic Lovely to have our group running again this month. Not the best, he's out of focus but just to say I'm looking forward to exploring water as a theme with you all.
This is beautiful Ruth!! I love your processing!! I am so pleased we are up and running again - i didn't do very well last month so am hoping to get going again with this theme. I love seeing children playing in the garden!! Fav!!
A child after my own heart - I could spend hours with a bowl of water. Fence panels on the other hand - we've sort of given up - about 400ft of them in our garden - priority is keeping them standing....
@judithg his "dinosaur" a unrecognisable piece of plastic toy food was having a bath with another "dinosaur" a painting brush...... parts of ours are falling down....our garden is about 100ft and we have fences all round it so hubby will be kept busy for a while.
My two boys used to spend hours with a bucket of water & a paintbrush.......just to wet the wood with the brush is satisfying! Lovely picture of your son at play.
Buy that child a dinosaur!! 😉 I'm impressed by the fence painting - that's a looong job. The half that belongs to me neighbour is currently being more and more patched by random objects - it looks like Steptoe's yard.
@judithg we have two that live in the bath, called Derek and dinoroar.....we have a "shed" that is standing still probably due to all junk stored inside it ......
I am so glad we don't have fence panels as that sounds a tedious job. It's great to see children absorbed in water play, they learn so much from this. Great processing
Fabulous shot and it tells such a lovely story. I don't envy your husband painting fences. I painted miles of fences around our property when we lived in Melbourne. Luckily here in NSW we have colourbond metal fences.
It's nice to have a focus this month and you've kicked it off so well with a beautiful composition. I love the sepia tones and the way water serves as the inspiration for the scene. Were you purposefully using the post to divide the image and frame littlest?
@taffy not at all Taffy. I was in garden with macro lens on taking shots of flowers. Turned round and saw him playing and just took the shot. My macro is fixed focal length crept closerto him but he'd moved away to continue playing. Honestly there was no thought to it....
I'm so pleased you jumped right in there for our Water theme. This is so lovely, and I can just imagine you little one sitting there for hours doing his water painting. And great processing with the sepia.
my girls loved water painting - we would often do it - especially after they drew with chalk on the cement - it was a good way to add artistic effect hahahaha
