I think they would probably enjoy ice cream in a blizzard. :) Love the expressions and the body language here. He looks after his little brother!

Brain freeze! Hope the ears are better. I was telling Adam about one of my less successful parenting moments - we inadvertently took him to the Millennium Dome with ear infections and I was grumpy with him for not being more interested. The day after I dropped him at nursery, decided that he wasn't well and turned round halfway to work for a trip to the docs. He made him howl when he looked in his ears so I abandoned work and took him to Sainsbury's instead (as you do with a sick child). Halfway round his eardrum burst and he cheered up. Did a lovely drawing of the Millennium Dome in the half hour he was at nursery as well - must have been paying attention after all...

Your portraits of the boys are superb

@judithg I know that feeling. I took my grandkids to see Les Miserables on a theatre break to London. Ben had just been cast as the urchin in the school production. His sister seemed totally disinterested! I was thinking waste ful - then when we got back to the hotel her temperature rocketed. Poor little mite was I'll!

Smashing shot Ruth. Their expressions tell us what they're thinking!

@ceilidh Oh I've done it loads of times! And it's not just us... My friend was forced to go to a major 'theatre in the round' production in Bolton because her mum said she would be letting her friend down if she backed out of the trip even though she said she felt ill. They were on the front row when the threatened vomiting turned into dramatic reality and the only escape was across the stage itself! And to add insult to injury her mum made her apologise in person at the theatre as soon as she felt better. She's still friends with the friend though!
