Shell within a Shell

I was practising close up shots using little shells this evening. When I picked this one up I noticed it had another tiny shell inside it.

It turns out the theme for our little photo group this week is going to be "close ups" so I may have to take a few more shots of shells.

@kiwinanna Thanks Liana. I have no idea how the tiny shell got inside the other one - it won't come out so I presume it formed in there. I must Google to find out how shells are formed.

They call shells like this something, the name i can't remember - like a cuckoo shell. Maybe I'm thinking of hermit crabs!
