This is one end of the rugby pitch in our village. The little hut is where each game's score is displayed. Taken this evening as the sun was setting and making the young spring leaves look quite golden.
The shot is a bit of a nod to the rugby world cup that's taking place in the UK at the moment. Rugby fever has hit New Zealand and our household. We're very excited that the Welsh team is doing so well but I also support the All Blacks when Wales isn't playing - split loyalties I know!
What a fabulous "Golden Hour" photo, but I love the subtlety of it! I remember noticing how different the light was when we visited NZ and even further south in Tasmania. It's diffused and simply exquisite! The Old Masters would have loved the *atmosphere" you captured here!
I am loving this - it has a nostalgic retro feel reminding us of winter afternoons supporting the local team. Lovely processing. I'd love to see Wales do well also - they used to be such formidable rivals of the All Blacks in days gone by.
@snaphappi Thanks Maggie. Glad we've got your support when the ABs aren't playing. @happypat I watched the game this morning (your evening) - such a shame as England is the host nation. @maggiemae@taffy@rickster549@janewinfrey Thank you very much. It's amazing to me what a difference lovely sunlight can do to turn a blah photo into something that's quite pretty.
Beutiful. Fav. Yes yesterday we shouted for the "Bokke" but my heart was with Scotland! My son used to live there and passed away in 2008 in a car crash. Scotland will always bring good memories.
@sdutoit Oh Sylvia, I'm so sorry to hear about your son. Our memories become much more precious when we have something so terrible happen in our lives - I can understand why you feel great affection for Scotland if your son was very happy while he lived there.
