While I was taking some shots I overhead a woman tell her husband the name of this bird. Just as well because I'm not very knowledgeable about birds, especially NZ ones, so to me it was just a heron.
Great bird in flight shot. I'm the same with birds, I actually brought a book so that I could look them up, but I keep forgetting to take the book out of the cupboard. haha.
