A lot of the time in the summer the clouds look so white and fluffy I'm often tempted to try and take photos of them. They never seem to look as good in photos as they do in real life. This is a drive-by shot when we were on our way to do our grocery shopping.
Lovely rural shot with beautiful clouds. A bit of added contrast in post processing might give the clouds more impact and bring them closer to what you actually saw.
@tristansmum Thanks Stephanie. Sadly post processing is not my forte as I only use Picasa. Photoshop, etc. all look a bit too complicated and unfortunately I haven't the time to learn them at the moment.
@tramway Thanks Bev and thanks for the tip about a polarising filter. I have a cheap one and tried taking a few shots today when I was sat in the car and hubby was driving to the supermarket. Haven't had a chance to check them out but hopefully they'll be good.
@nickspicsnz The main thing about a polariser is that you need to have the sun at right angles to your shot to get the best effect. So you need it coming over either your left or right shoulder.
@tramway Ah, so sat as a passenger in the car was probably not going to get the best results then, lol! Thanks for your advice - really appreciate it - would never have known to consider where best to have the sun coming from. And that probably explains why my shots with the polariser were not much better really - maybe just a bit darker!
