The Eyes have it! by nicolaeastwood

The Eyes have it!

This is a reprise of something we did when little Dottie was about 2! I came home from work one day to find her peeking out of the letter box, it was just her height. She used to tell us when the postman was coming and when guests were arriving!

Now she has to kneel down to do this, but it's still fun.

Rubbish picture; too much flash on the paintwork, have you ANY idea how cold it is out there, and blowing an alarming gale straight in from Siberia..... paintwork in dire need of refreshing, add that to the list of things to do, and we don't actually live at number 19; that just came with the door! but I hope it makes you smile!

Todays word: DOOR
Boo
Not a rubbish picture.Yes I do know how cold it is out there. The painty cracks on the door add a bit of texture to the shot. Why are you looking out of number 19's house when you don't live there...are you cat burglars?
Reminds me of the home alone films...LOL

So in other words...I like the shot...LOL

Lovely shot! It's just the sort of thing that I used to do when I was a kid (so that would be about two years ago when I gave up doing it then!)

@huvesaker ah there you are Boo just added a comment to your FB......!! I know YOU know how cold it is......but OMG as they say it's only -1 or something but the wind is something else!! We do live behind this door, it is our house, and our door and our letterbox, but for some reason it has a 19 on it - rather amusing in that there are about six houses in the road!! Thank you!

@steampowered if I could bend down that far I'd be peeking out too!!! thank you!

@huvesaker It's a bit more difficult now because our letter box is vertical and I get a crick in my neck ;o)

I like it, the door has a lived in look about it that seems rather inviting.

I need to paint my door if by "paint" you mean replace with something that doesn't swell up when its humid. Eventually someone is going to be driving by and see me shoulder my way in and call the police to report a break-in.

@aponi Kathryn lived in is the word! The oldest part of the cottage are believed to date back to c1540!! :0). In the summer we have your problem in the winter a howling gale whistles through that letterbox!!

@nicolaeastwood I have a friend from England who laughed at me when I said that my house was built in the 1950's, he was absolutely rude about that being "old".

This is such a great shot! I love the blue door... it was probably a recycled door then from the days when it used to belong to a #19 house?
