Another View

From yesterday's trip to the Shard.

Okay - I know - enough now I promise......!!

I love the sweep of the railway track which connects Cannon Street, London Bridge and Waterloo
Great location to take a shot form.

You got the farris wheel thing, what is it called the eye?

Is that the river they did the open water swim in during the Olympics because it does not look pretty and clean to me.

@richardcreese @padlock @huvesaker oh it's just great, not cheap at £25 but you can stay as long as you like and I checked the forecast before I booked! I'm dying to go back at night!
@aponi yes,the London Eye, I thought that was tall when I went on it! the Open Water swim at the Olympics was in the Serpentine Lake in Hyde park, there is an open air Lido there. They do lots of swimming there. It would be really dangerous to swim in the Thames the current is massive because it is tidal and it always looks this muddy brown colour, more (I think though the current stirring up the mud) In recent years there has been lots of publicity about cleaning up the river and salmon returning to the Thames, lots of fish and I believe even the odd seal has been spotted!

I just remember this guy on the radio getting cross with an interviewer, he was some biologist of some ilk. They kept asking him if the whale was ok and he snapped and yelled "NO HE'S NOT OK HES IN THE BLOODY THAMES".

It was a very serious situation and I hate that the whale died but it was a fabulous melt down and really you should be able to scream at stupid interviewers.

@aponi Ha.....I think I heard that too.....I had to chuckle the other day when that plane came down off the coast in Bali (no one was hurt!) but I heard the interviewer ask......so just how low was the plane when it hit the water?! well that would be somewhere close to sea level then!!!
