This property was designed by Charles Rennie Macintosh for a wealthy publisher. It was quite a controversial design for its time and was not well received. It is now, however, recognised as an important architectural piece and is going through a major restoration meaning it is encased in a wire mesh box with a metal roof designed to allow the walls to dry out naturally over ten years!
