The West or High Lighthouse built in1823 and designed by Robert Stevenson. It similar to the East lighthouse, although taller, rubble built and stuccoed; later raised with a dumbell slit decoration, corbelled parapet with railing, and an octagonal cupola.
It is now in private ownership and is still active .
