The Wallace Monument in the Morning Mist

This impressive monument was opened in 1869 to commemorate the life of Sir William Wallace who famously led a small Scottish force to rout the English at the Battle of Stirling Bridge in 1297.
His sword which struck fear in his foes is kept within the building
