Makes me think of Attar's 'Conference of the Birds'. Attar's 12th century poem describes the conference of the birds of the world when they meet to begin the search for their ideal king, the Simorgh bird. To find him they must undertake an arduous journey, and many of the birds express reservations to their leader, the hoopoe. The hoopoe calms their fears, using a series of parables for guidance in the search for spiritual truth. Your photo seems to capture a moment when the birds are all wondering, some turning their backs, others agitated, others cogitating. I like it very much.
