I am really struggling with this. Forget the fact that I overdid it when messing with the colour, what could / should I do with respect to composition and lighting to improve this?
I like the idea of the shot, I would have possibly cranked up the Exposure value a little to allow for the brightness of the glass, purely from a B&W point of view. I had a quick play with this image here, hope you don't mind, I have put it here on my flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/jase_hoad/6940475429/in/photostream/lightbox/
You're right, the purple is weird! Great shot though, love the lines. I'd do exactly what @jasehoad did. Can never go wrong with structure and hi-con b&w!
@gark@jasehoad@peterdegraaff@shutterbugger you guys are the best... i went back there today for another round of shots and hopefully have a bit more to work with from them... and i will give the b&w a try... not sure if i'll get to it tonight as i got caught up in my fork shot :)
Jase - tx so much for giving me a sense of what i can do with the mall shot - i really really appreciate it!
I really like the composititon - you know if it was me I would have given it a subtle HDR and applied a high contrast edit to it. I quite like the purple!

Lemme know if you wish me to remove it :)

the purple really was an accident... i was trying so hard to give it something ;p
Juliette - i've yet to give HDR a go... maybe one day, but i am not ready yet!
