I have a question for you. We are staying at the Harbour Castle this coming Saturday. How long a walk is it to Kensington Market? We can't decide whether or not to take the train.
@shutterbugger shamefully, i wouldn't have a clue were it not for google maps... which says approx 3.5 kilometers... in lovely weather, it would probably be a nice hike... especially along harbour front...
@shutterbugger well... shhhh... don't tell anyone, but it's been something like 20 years since i last went to kensington market ;p the walking map is fairly straightforward - you need to go west and north, or north and west - depending on which direction you want to take first... walking up spadina will be grittier... university might be a bit dull on saturday... ditto for bay street... altho' both have some sporadically interesting architecture and sculptures... and there are lots and lots and lots of cranes... saturday evening you'll likely see more folks once you get towards the entertainment district (king and bay and university)... sunday morning would, i think, be quite empty... do you have a specific plan / target in mind? coming for a show?
@northy not coming for anything really...just for a night out. Chad's boss treats us to a night away every so often. Nice, right? Last time it was the Royal York! Turns out it's not this weekend we're going but the next weekend. BUT the next weekend is Easter, is it not? We might have to push it towards the end of April.
@shutterbugger yep... weekend after this coming weekend is easter... i am so not ready! What does Chad do that earns such a lovely treat? seems like no one is handing out perks of any sort these days!
