Spi-mato? by northy

Spi-mato?

In the interests of full disclosure, I have to confess that I did put the spider ON the cherry tomato. It is dreary and wet today, and we found this little guy (maybe 1.5 cm in diameter including legs) in the house. He needed some colour for the backdrop ;p I wish I hadn't been using such a narrow DOF, but spidey was not a very cooperative model and kept wandering off!
LOL to the wandering off! Great capture - he looks HUGE

roflmao - it's wonderful - and I think it deserves to be on the PP to upset the arachnophobics

What kind of god awful spider is that? From the thumb nail I thought it was a scorpion.

@sparkle @shanne @shutterbugger @peterdegraaff @newbie @tacetstudios

tx for looking and commenting :) really, the spider was very small... i can't imagine he would have been larger than 1.5 to 2cm even with all his legs stretched out! no clue what kind of spider he is... he walked kinda sideways like a crab, and was very black... Tina - just so you know, i did NOT touch the thing! i used a toothpick to lift him up to the tomato ;p

This is not the moment to confess this because I'm not checking now, but I do have a spider guide somewhere

@shanne Cool! I hope it doesn't turn out to be something deadly... I set it free in our backyard when I was done taking pictures ;p

tx for all the lovely comments...

Paula - i did indeed toss the tomato... AND the toothpick... AND washed my hands really really well even tho' i hadn't touched the thing...

Sean - i have a hate hate relationship with spiders and other bugs... they freak me out... and well, they FREAK me out... but i confess to a rather morbid fascination... the little guy above really seemed completely innocuous... now, you want icky hairy gross spiders - @dieter has some... @5unflow3r @tabbycat @harley84 @coracollins tx guys! yup - good models are definitely hard to come by... i would have sworn that there are always bugs crawling around the house and yard - until i got a macro lens and actually started looking for them! but seriously folks, this guys was the smallest, most harmless looking spider you could imagine! really!!!
