Bench, planter and passerby - does it get more banal than this?

I rarely commit myself this early in the game, but I have limited opportunities for street photography this week and this may have to serve as my entry for the street photography now challenge which is:

"Expose the banalities of the new urban landscape" originally set by George Georgiou

http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/14257/street-photography-now-week-19

Please view large for extra special banality!

Work seems to be getting in the way of my hobby - what do you suppose is up with that? ;p

Thank you so much for your gracious comments on my varying photos from yesterday... still struggling with my new "nifty fifty" but hope springs eternal!
Great tones

Nice one, Northy. . .the soft movement is wonderful.

The movement really adds to the feel of the photo!

I like the lines and angles creating a soft framing.

What is banality, I say - my finding; devoid of freshness or originality! How can you make a picture of that! This one is lovely though I do feel sorry for the lady who has lost one leg!

I really like this Northy, you have some interesting shapes and textures, a chap that exudes character and you also have a great sense of movement! I think you are way too hard on yourself!!

I'm also really liking this, especially large and on black for that extra touch of banality (is that even a word?). Like it so much that I have to fav it.

I still like this one!

The balance between the planter and the moving person works well. I always like your choices in monotone conversion.

Great movement! I love the tones!

I don't find it banal at all: especially when there's some motion picture get really great and unique because it's nearly impossible to reproduce them!

Loving the tones to support the scene of motion and stillness with the gent on the bench.
