I'm torn on this one... i really really like how i caught this guy walking along the platform reading his book... but i fear there is something about the train that is dragging my eye off the frame on the right, and i could not come up with editing to fix that... so to me it's a bit of an uncomfortable picture... however, I am not sure that is necessarily a bad thing :)
Thank you so much for the views, comments and favs on my ghost witch... I did have fun with that one!
I am afraid I am very behind in commenting... work and kids' homework and kids' sports are dragging on me in the worst way... however, I am determined to catch up on the weekend... please bear with me?
I think you are way too hard on yourself Northy. This is a great photo. My eye was drawn straight to the man, then I looked and noticed all the other things in the photo.
the train does create some tension with the rest of the image, but I personally think that it works here. To me it is an interesting juxtaposition between loud and quiet, fast and slow. I think that you captured real life, which is what street photography should do! Fav.
I love the totems...the old and simple feel of them with the flashiness and newness of the train is a great balance...and the guy comes walking along oblivious to both sides. Great shot....blurr and all!
I know what you mean about the train, but with the statue & the man, it just makes me look at for longer.
I wonder how much it would change the tension in the shot if the train was blurred more.
I really like this one. My eye went to the man, the train, the totems, in that order. The train is only slightly blurred at the front of the pic, maybe that is what's bugging you? I think it looks cool that only half seems in motion. I really like the shot.
Very cool. I like the blur of the train. My eye went straight to them man with his phone. Wonder if you tried a selective focus if it would help what you don't like. I think your pov here is great
There's a stillness about the left, with those figures and movement on the right. The guy has less movement but is clearly coming towards us. I think, for once, it would be better without him, more balanced somehow
I wonder how much it would change the tension in the shot if the train was blurred more.
