i feel like i'm a pale imitation of myself these days... work is crazy these days and the kids' sports schedule is chaotic (somehow my 14 year old has a baseball game, lacrosse practice and hockey tryouts all tomorrow (Tuesday) night... gaaaaaah!)...
Fantastic street capture, Northy. We have an eighteen year old that's at university and he does that too! Managing to triple book himself quite regularly. His are theatrical, sport and environmental based commitments though. The joys of parenthood, which I hadn't experienced before meeting my lovely partner, some five years ago! Sometimes I miss my ordered minimal old life, but not for very long... ;-)
You still manged to crank out a decent shot, I quite like it! Nice lighting and these trams and the processing make it look like an old photo from the '80s or so.
I feel your pain regarding crazy schedules. Since my daughter is in the school as well, we have often conflicting appointments and sometimes it takes a small miracle to manage them all. It puts so much strees on you, it's very difficult for my wife and for the whole family. Respect to all the mothers out there!
@squamloon oh yes... Nothing like the states I think... My kids (at least two of them) really love sports more for the sake of the activity than anything else... And they don't play at a high competitive level... School def comes first!
That's crazy and it sounds like none of the coaches ever talk to one another when they're scheduling these things! You did a great job in coming up with a shot within that crazy schedule. I agree with ME- it's really got a great vintage turn of the century city feel to it.
sorry you are feeling overwhelmed....i feel like that sometimes and i don't even HAVE kids! lmao....so i can only imagine. I do think this shot shows that emotion well, though!
You´re not alone, had a very though week too and have just crap shots in my album these days.. but there will always be better times ahead! :) I love the flare of the sun here!! :)

Second, I've been thinking about this article in the Atlantic, http://m.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2013/10/the-case-against-high-school-sports/309447/ , and would have assumed things were better in Canada. I guess they still are, though, in terms of prioritization of school... yes?

I don't think you're a pale imitation, I think we just gravitate to what we know when we're busy/tired.
