i've had this idea all week and thought i had exorcised it with yesterday's triptych, but apparently not... it started with the weekly theme of "speed"... which has two common definitions... one being "to move quickly", the other being "the rate at which something moves"... so whilst i think many were interpreting "speed" for the weekly theme as moving quickly, i was thinking more in terms of pace... and then i started remembering an old short sci-fi story about the little boy who was determined to stand still... only, doncha know, the earth is moving quite quickly, spinning on its axis an' all, as well as orbiting the sun... so standing still was actually an extremely dangerous proposition ;p
anyway - here i am, demonstrating what can happen when one tries to stand still for 4 seconds... for the weekly theme, and also for the 5+2 selfie challenge of movement...
(in the interest of full disclosure, in case you hadn't guessed, i photoshopped in a layer with me standing still so my feet don't come up blurry)
(for those who are curious, my nail polish is a dark shimmery grey colour)
Very creative and fun shot! It is hard to stand still sometimes..ha...I am honored to be your get pushed partner this week. I love black and white and certainly would aspire to do it as well as you do in my dreams.... Anyway for your challenge this week....I would like to see a color shot of something you would like to be (besides a mom and photographer) and that would make you happy or something that no one knows you have a secret passion for...? I hope that is tangible enough and okay with you...:) If not, we will think of something else. :):) . Good luck and have a great week!
@nanderson colour? oh the horrors!!! and had it occurred to you that when i am queen of the universe everything might be in black and white with subtle murky tones? (don't tell @bobfoto ) ;p ok - this will take some thought and planning... we'll have to see what i can come up with... tx :D
@nanderson@northy - great choice as it the photographer that fears colour, that escapes into the world of grey. Colour should be embraced and warmly received for not all the eyes in the world see what we see.
@kass@stimuloog moi? pink? don't be absurd... it's a shimmery dark grey colour... it's by clinique and i think it's called real steel, but i am too lazy to get up to check...
Oh and cool toes.
