i asked one of my boys for suggestions for the energy theme and his idea was "sugar"!
so here's a bit of sugar... technically it's not "raw" sugar - it's called demerera style sugar and i guess it's as close to raw sugar as you can get that's allowed to be sold for human consumption...
i decided to see what happened when i put my macro rings (which i bought a couple years ago before investing in a macro lens) on my macro lens... and the answer is this... yes - i cropped it, but not as much as you might think...
probably better large on black..
tx for all the fun comments on yesterday's shots - the restaurant is actually a very nice one - i kinda like the bit of edge around the washrooms :)
So this is a crystal of the sugar? Well, I've never seen it enlarged like this. It is rather beautiful - this colour and form! I wonder what white sugar would look like!
@maggiemae tx Maggie... the colour probably has as much to do with the light and a bit of white balance tweaking as anything else... the thing about white sugar is it's too fine to get a bit of clumping happening... this is 2 or 3 grains stuck together i think
Excellent macro still life and I like the way you've darkened the reflection... less confusing for the eye. I think the 'colour siren' is seducing you with her honeyed song....
Hey Northy, I am wondering if your nex 7 display goes black when you turn your camera vertical? Having an issue with my new one and curious if this is something that you have had happen.
@photohoot Wendy - the nex display will go black if it thinks you have your eye to the viewfinder... I'm not quite sure what you mean by vertical but if the viewfinder ends up covered or blocked, that may be why the screen goes black... I haven't had any problems w this
Gorgeous, as others have said, gold. @photohoot LOL I thought my Nikon was broken the first time this happened. Take your sun glasses off and see if that helps.
