in the depths of despair of ever finding my phojo again, i took the nifty fifty out for a walk around the block in search of something - anything - to shoot... have to say i remain underwhelmed by this lens... the f/1.8 is fun, but the focus seems a bit soft and i really don't like the limit of a prime 50mm...
I bought one too.Because I feel like a weirdo shooting everything with either my macro or zoom.Like I "should" have a 50,meh. That being said..your lack of photo mojo is certainly not evident! I like your sign shots.really like the gritty feel in this one.
Good discipline though! Persevere, I say, cos this ain't at all bad. I prefer 35mm to 50mm - 50mm narrows the field of view on a half-frame camera, whereas the 35mm gives a more natural one - as did 50mm in the days of 35mm film. 'Nifty' sounds like a marketing ploy
@mzzhope I agree with Hope -- you hide your lack of mojo well! I wonder if it's just part of the long-term participation. Cool interpretation of the sign challenge.
Oh dear. I think you did fine. I have a 35 mm ( for full frame) that works as a nifty fifty on my camera-same as yours). I love it so far but it takes getting used to.
I have been contemplating getting a 50mm so it's interesting seeing and reading what others think. I understand it is a lens that takes some getting used to. Love what you have done here
I feel the same about my 50mm....I hardly ever get anything in focus. The 50mm works well for this shot, though. I need to practice more with my 50mm to get to the 'nifty' part. I don't want to buy a much more expensive 35mm!
