Great Shot even if it is wonky - think it adds to it. I meant to ask what are you using for PP as you get really great dark contrasts - mine are always a bit ... lame :(
@scarybird tx Steve... i use Lightroom for most of my post processing, and then silver efex for most of my black and white conversions...
in Lightroom when i am processing from RAW and i know i will be converting to black and white, i will use the medium or strong contrast in the tone curve...
then in silver fx i will choose a preset that approximates what i am aiming for and play with the sliders and other controls to get it to pretty much where i want it to be... this usually involves playing with the contrast controls and dynamic brightness...
back in LR i will check the black and white clipping and then play with the sliders to get it to the point where there is some pure black and some pure white - the amount depends on what i am aiming for...
@northy Just looked - is that some kind of Google product ? I am finding Google Nik Collection which is about 7 plug ins? Also I have just started usin Photoshop but with my new camera been given a copy of Lightroom - what is the differance if you know? Sorry for so many questions xx
yes - the silver efex is one of the google nik plug-ins...
as i understand it, both Lightroom and Photoshop have the same camera RAW developing modules...
Lightroom's is apparently more intuitive (i've never tried processing from RAW in photoshop, so i can't speak to that)...
as well, Lightroom is great for organizing photos and batch-processing... but it doesn't have the photo manipulation capabilities that photoshop has...
what a great looking structure and like the quirky angle! If you're interested I've loaded a couple of shots this weekend, and am thinking I may start loading...not back to shooting every day yet, but am in the mood for sharing and reconnecting!! :o)
That is a demonic looking bridge, especially with that dramatic sky !! I'd love to see a shot of just the top parts of the bridge - the actual road and the city horizon are kind of mundane and ordinary in comparison...
@janim that's too funny - from a distance, it looks pretty ordinary - not demonic at all :) i'll have to give a more abstract version a go at some point!
