Sally (@salza) gave me the push challenge of white on white (or high key black and white). I had this challenge before back in 2012 and failed at it MISERABLY. So i thought "great" I now have the opportunity to redeem myself. Or, y'know, fail some more. ;p

This is probably technically black and white, btw. I didn't actually convert it to bw, but i did desaturate the yellows and oranges to remove colour cast from wherever it came from.

I am afraid I am horribly horribly behind in commenting back. I am hugely busy at work and my mind is full trying to sort thru the challenges leaving me with little energy for this kind of creative thinking.

@salza - first two attempts are up :D i still have a number of ideas for this to work thru - mostly i'm just happy that these are things i can do around the house in the few moments between dinner and bedtime when i am still relatively awake ;p

OK, if these are in your house, I am truly impressed at how all your little screws seem to align vertically!! Seriously, I am!

you turned a household item most would never consider photographing and turned it into a stunner of an image. I love it

@northy I am an architect....it is one of my pet peeves! That, and crooked outlet/switch covers, so yes, I really appreciate this one! :-)))

Cool shot

@panthora OMG, you are right. It's something I never wold have noticed but then if they hadn't been aligned the image would prob not have worked as well. Good eye.
@northy great shot.
April 2nd, 2014
Nice! Nailed it!
April 2nd, 2014
good idea to have turned off all the five and left just the one switch on. @panthora - osia, first thing i noticed were the vertically aligned screws.
April 2nd, 2014
@summerfield Yes!!! A person after my own heart!! I cannot believe you noticed the one switched on outlet! I bet @northy didn't! :-)) Let's see what else we can find in a photo of six switches! Actually, that screw on the upper left bothers me; it is kind of squiggly! :-)
April 2nd, 2014
@panthora - screwdriver must've slipped once or twice for that to happen. :-) i know, i've done it quite a few times. and i just looked at my switches, the screws are all horizontal. tee-hee! i did them after painting when we first moved in.

wow. what a clean switch pad love all the alligned (matching) screws, and the fact there arre no grubby marks/fingreprints etc. couldnt have been taken in my house!
April 2nd, 2014
Fantastic white on white. I'm afraid the position of the screws passed me by!
April 2nd, 2014
I just love this image. I think it would look great on the wall, right above those light switches :) Fav for me of course.
April 2nd, 2014
Love this one, I didn't notice the screws but did notice the one switch on while the others were off......is there a prize?? :)
April 2nd, 2014
I see everything...
April 2nd, 2014
Wow, love this. So Simple. We don't have such photogenic light switches, I just love how all the screws are all facing the same way. Fav.
April 2nd, 2014
Now that someone pointed out the perfectly aligned screws, I am doubly impressed! This is a great shot!
April 2nd, 2014

April 2nd, 2014
Instant fav for this great minimalistic comp. It ' turned me on ' ;)
April 2nd, 2014
@summerfield ok - just so we're clear - i ABSOLUTELY planned on only one switch on and which one.

@panthora tx :) i hate crooked outlet covers as well - but would never notice whether the screws were aligned or not if that hadn't been pointed out

@janim i thought of you when taking this :) i'm kind of floored by the reaction though - never thought it would have gotten this many comments or favs!
