I don't think those faces are bewildered, @graemestevens! They are going to get up and slam something into that camera person's head! What a shot! Did you use dodge and burn?
@maggiemae That's a violent take on it...from my many years travelling on the tube there were always bewildered faces...mind you, that was usually because the 'locals' were busy pushing, shoving and elbowing their way to the front
@graemestevens@maggiemae honestly, i'm not really sure they noticed me, although it certainly looks that way... it was very crowded, and i was standing on the stairs not really in the line of sight...
this was converted in black and white in nik silver fx... i boosted contrast and i did add a bit of darkness on the left with the gradient tool in lightroom, mostly to de-emphasize a disembodied head that was rather distracting ;p
@graemestevens I understand from others and that includes myself that taking a photo of people in public can get peoples anger up - intrusion of privacy etc. I have had some awful looks! Glad to know you haven't.
Oh, dear... your "huddled masses" tag is so expressive for this shot. My eyes are drawn to the faces that are looking back, against the grain and towards an incoming train, against those of everyone else. The lines are lovely.
Great that you have caught a couple of faces turned in your direction in contrast to the rest. Super lead lines as so often in your shots.. and distinctive processing.
Love this and I have enjoyed the thread. This is not unusual for London tube stations. I have to smile at @graemestevens comment. My husband is a Londoner born and bred and if I'm going to lose him anywhere it would be in a busy station. He moves boldly through the crowds , I wallow in his wKe being ultra polite. Did I just say I would lose him in a station? Dave, how about a trip to London...?
You know the time I go to work the traffic isn't usually too heavy but it was yesterday. The roads are the best yet and think a lot of people were running late. Thus I can appreciate this picture. Imagine there are people who deal with crowds like this every day.

Great shot
