into the 100 acre wood by northy

into the 100 acre wood

another one from the weekend... it occurs to me yet again that i have a propensity to take way too many random shots of trees and snow... nothing to see here... move along!
The figures make this so special.

love it ...

The polar opposite of my winter day out here...and for that reason I also find it quite gorgeous, though it gives me the shivers!

Very little snow here this year, so no complaints seeing your shots of it! Nice contrasty shot!

This has a Russian look and feeling about it! fav

Wonderful image. It's perfect in B&W! I love the look of the trees.

Love this shot with stark white and black contrasts and the walking couple

Excellent

Trees and snow and awesome contrasts and lighting and processing so really, do we really want/need to move along? No, no we do not. Very cool shot :)

You are rocking these snow shots

I don't think that the couple walking hand in hand is "nothing." And I'm guessing it's not as random as you are making out. Lovely -- FAV

I like the contrast between the dark moody trees and the pure white snow

So glad you caught that couple walking in the snow. Makes it a bit of a romantic image.

but i like it!

Randomness is good... not possible to post 365 days a year using only well executed concepts. I like it, whatever.. but I read it as more sinister than your title implies!

@yrhenwr tx :). I guess I just think, every time I come home from a walk or hike with a gazillion shots of trees and snow, that I really need to think about looking at the world a little differently, you know? There must be some new (or at least new for me) take on it I can discover, no?

Fab contrasts and beautiful scenery. Great composition and captur!

We rarely have snow but we are surrounded by 20,000 acres of forest so I take lots of pictures of trees but 99% of the time my image fails to capture what I saw and felt... that's a good enough reason to keep at it, I think. Perhaps it's the same with you?

VERY spooky! Great image.

very nice

The eye is drawn to the people straight away and it feels like the trees are creating a frame for them, very nice and i like it
March 9th, 2016
The lines of the path lead the eye to the people and leave you to wonder what is around the corner
March 9th, 2016
It's a little bit spooky...but in a good way.

Snow and you seem to do very well together!

The figures really make this and I love the fact you can't see where they are heading

@northy @vignouse If you find yourself photographing in forests a lot check out the work of David Higgs: http://www.milesfromhere.co.uk/index.php/galleries/weald-iii.

Featured artist in Black + White Photography magazine recently, his location of choice is the Ashdown Forest, which as it happens is the 'original' 100 acre wood.

@jasperc @northy Why have I never heard of this man? His work is enchanting and inspiring... and in B&W too. I am so pleased that you have introduced me to his work. Myra, the link as posted doesn't work - you need to drop the full-stop at the end.
