Halloween does not exist in Austria (actually). Therefore I have no direct access to this custom.
I can say something about the design of this picture:
I prefer this version compared to take I. It is of crucial effect that the darkness prevails over the bright. Very nice is the angled guide over the corners and the strong wide-angle effect (perspectively distorted lines in the frame of the mirror, the door and the candle). The magical glow of the candle, the dark vignette, the ghostly, translucent legs - this looks in cooperation terrific. Masterfully. Fav!
OK I LOVE this one. I very much like the diagonal lines, and the candle is a nice addition. The darker light works really well (as you are a master of the dark scene.) FAV
Your other ghostly 'illusion' convinces me more - it's ethereal and mysterious. This one has lost that quality and looks more 'realistic'... like you stood in front of a low mirror with a candle in front of it and photographed it from your standing position.. then added some grunge in processing.
