had a play with the iPad light and a variety of things cluttering up my photo eyrie... the result being one of those things that i can't explain... it just sorta "happened"... ;p
Assuming this is the "flash" LED elements turned B&W, what you're seeing is the fresnel lens that is placed on top of each light source. Apple started to put two on their products over the last few releases of iPhones and iPads (that have flash elements). The two light sources are white and amber (what Apple refers to as "mood" lighting"). You can see the two stacked concentric rings which are coming from the two light sources and the two fresnel lenses on top of the LEDs. @graemestevens@graemestevens@taffy
@mikegifford hey Mike... cool techno info - but this is the product of patterns available on the iPad app softbox bro... i don't think the flash could produce something like this - might have to play around with that one of these days to see! @graemestevens@taffy
@northy@taffy@graemestevens THat's good to know too! If you have a flash element on your iPad or you own an iPhone 6 or 7 look closely at the flash element and you'll see this pattern over the top of the light sources.
@mikegifford@northy@taffy Softbox is a pretty cool app, I use it for a bit of "assisted" lighting on those damned selfies. Well worth the pitiful sum they charge for the full version.
