@miseria challenged me to do light painting because she'd noticed that i'd said i was struggling with it... what can i say... still struggling... after a small handful of attempts i ended up with a wicked blister on my finger from twirling the light and decided to call it a night (at least i didn't bash myself in the head with the flashlight!)...

@miseria - what can i say... i tried!

I think it is a great display of light painting. I like the arc made by the lights...

Sorry about the blister, but it's a darned good light painting.

Great idea having lights in behind the light painting. I like it.

i rather like this - I've never tried light painting. Probably should try something new

I love doing light painting when I'm doing the photograph and someone else does the work of actually painting -- so I can feel for you having to do this as a challenge. I think it's really hard!

@alophoto Ha! The Arch - it's ubiquitous! @northy A valiant and beautiful effort. I, too, like the lights behind the lights.

I'm impressed. I have no idea how it's supposed to look, but it's great no less.

I like how it frames the city in the background.

Suffering for one's art is fine in the abstract but blisters just plain suck. I agree with Taffy, get someone else to do the foot work and you just be the director and technician. I do however really like how the light circle is incomplete, it adds to the overall composition with unique lines and flow.

This is cool

Well done.

Sorry for the extremely late reply to this. This is a nice photo! You definitely managed to capture the effect this time! :D

The combination of subject and light painting works nicely together. Usually these kind of photos don't really have much in the way of stuff other than the painting, so that's great too!
