a sweep of land

nothing to see here... move along!
Well, alright. I'll move along -- but after I've had a good look at this. I really like the composition and the tones. I see you had the same problem here that I often have of the clouds getting blown out in some places. Or is it the case that the original was not blown out at all? Richard Sayer @vignouse told me that happened on one of his -- that it wasn't until uploaded to 365 that it appeared that way.

I can see a hope! Nicely moody shot.

But there's loads to see!

Very bleak, I feel cold just looking at this shot. But, on the other hand, I rather like it too.

I like this portrayal of dystopia - the very last vestige of a barren and ravaged earth... I feel the chill in my spine.

Such a stark portrait that truly portrays April in the NE

So much to see here.....
Bare and bleak...
Sometimes, you cease to seek.

I see variations of light and sky, a lovely curved leading line, and longsuffering barren trees and bushes. Plenty.

A fav.

Terrific composition :)

the trees still look to be in winter mode. are they budding yet? i have a mind to go to high park to check if the cherry blossoms are doing anything after not showing up last year and two years in a row! i like your capture of the curve as well as the light on the rocks. speaking of rocks, you rock!

Really do not know why you say that there is nothing to see here - it's a gorgeous landscape that works so well in B&W!
It has your signature moody starkness that I recognized immediately as your shot.
Thank you for entering the Landscape Challenge!

@mcsiegle hmmm... i'm not really sure if the clouds are blown out here or not... they definitely weren't in LR, but it was still fairly light...

@summerfield hahahaha... no!!!! it was still bleak and cold last week... and clearly, from looking out the window, things haven't improved much ;p

@northy Maybe it's just my eyes or my screen. In any case, it's a gorgeous landscape.
