Hurry hurry hurry... by northy

Hurry hurry hurry...

From the bowels of Union Station... for the camera settings challenge...

A comparatively slow shutter speed allows for clarity of the static parts of the scene, but leaves the people looking a bit like whirling dervishes... which is pretty much a reflection of reality in the big city :) the only processing is crop and conversion to black and white...

Another skyline shot in my main album:

Thank you for all the lovely views and comments... It's been tough going the last few weeks and so I really appreciate the encouragement all the more!

Very cool motion. Do you hand-hold or rest the camera on something? Just wondering what your the 'success rate' is like.

Is your city inhabited by one-legged people?! Love the shot very much though!

Great shot and great example of a longer shutter speed. Was this handheld or with a tripod? We're not allowed to use tripods in the Vancouver Skytrain stations :(

@abirkill @humphreyhippo this was handheld... i think i was crouched down for this one, but i don't remember! if i was standing up, i would have leaned back on something to help me keep steady...this is probably at the limit of what i can manage handheld regardless...

You have a lot of one legged folk traversing the bowels of TO? ha ha. great movement shot.

Nice one! How you do these shots just out in the open is beyond me... I'm way too much of a scaredy cat lol.
